We hope that you and your families and colleagues are all keeping well.
We want to assure you that Biederman remains in operation during this crisis. We won’t say we’re operating ‘as usual’ because there is nothing ‘usual’ about this very difficult, challenging time. Our priority, first and foremost, has been to ensure the health and safety of our employees.
While, ideally, our employees would be able to work safely from home, the reality is that production occurs on the plant floor in our facilities. We’ve taken extensive measures and put new protocols in place to protect employees. Using best practices and by monitoring and implementing the ever-developing guidelines, we review our program daily to ensure we are effectively using all procedures and tools available to ensure the safety of our employees. Some of those measures include restricting the facilities from non-employees, daily employee health self-assessments, providing the necessary PPE to work safely on the lines and around others, sanitization stations throughout the facility, appropriate social distancing monitoring with special floor markings as guides, extra facility cleanings with disinfection services and providing modified schedules.
We continue to communicate with our employees on safe practices while away from the workplace as well. Frankly, our biggest challenge is likely one that you are also struggling with – trying to manage the anxiety that everyone is dealing with as this crisis continues. We do what we can to offer support there as well.
Biederman is committed to continuing to fulfill orders. Our suppliers are also all still continuing with their operations.
Again, as you are aware, this is a very dynamic situation. However, we wanted to reassure you that Biederman is here to continue providing you with the packaging of products that keep the economy running.
On behalf of everyone at Biederman, please stay safe and well.
